Total lunar eclipse at Lladurs Castle
Have you ever seen a total lunar eclipse as it rises over the horizon? Do you want to know why they happen and see it with a powerful telescope? If you miss it now, the next total lunar eclipse will be in late 2028.
If you want to attend a very special event, learn more about the Moon, and observe how the eclipse evolves through a telescope, you'll love this activity.
A total lunar eclipse will occur on September 7th, visible in Spain. It will be the only one we'll be able to observe in 2025. We'll begin the activity in the auditorium, explaining details about our Moon and how eclipses occur. We'll then climb the tower to admire a unique view and follow the progress of the eclipse. During the event, we'll observe the Moon rising over the horizon, which we'll be able to admire with the naked eye, binoculars, and a powerful telescope. We'll see the Earth's shadow retreat and the light advance across the Moon's surface. Finally, we'll point the telescope toward Saturn and enjoy its spectacular rings.
