A typical Pyrenean environment , surrounded by spectacular high mountain landscapes, frames a town that has managed to preserve the rural and traditional air of time ago, maintaining elements of ancestral architecture such as the irregular, narrow and steep alleys, the open ditch and the houses old built with wood and stone view with slate roofs.
This former rural center has become one of the most touristic points of the region thanks to the proximity of the ski slopes of Vallter 2000, and the spectacular nature of its surroundings.
From Setcases, there are multiple paths and routes to the highest peaks and the deepest valleys. The landscape in Setcases is lived with the 5 senses: admiring its green and exuberant environment, feeling the delicacy of the meadows, listening to the murmur of the water, breathing the purity of its air and tasting the exquisite gastronomy full of local products.
The most noteworthy places of interest are: the Plaza dels Estudis, the Church of Sant Miquel and les Mines.
The church of Setcases, dedicated to Sant Miquel Arcángel, dates from the late seventeenth century. Now, a fire occurred in 1728 and sank the roof and the primitive turn (of wood), and destroyed the cover. Its reconstruction was finished in 1729, it would be a building that, after the Gothic period, still conserves the constructive formulas such as the warheads or support nerves of the turns.
