2 routes of the Vallès in the Maresme

2 routes of the Vallès in the Maresme

Between the Vallès and the Maresme rises the Sierra de la Marina, a protected space between large urban centers. An ideal place to breathe some fresh air, exercise and from where the views over the sea and the Maresme region are incredible.

We propose 2 routes between the interior and the beach, between the Vallès and the Maresme to enjoy the blue horizon.

1. From the Roca del Vallès El Masnou

Last stage of the Meridiano Verde, a long-distance route to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the metric system, between the Pyrenees and the beaches of Maresme. A demanding excursion lasting almost 5 hours, which can be done both on foot and by mountain bike. The itinerary begins at La Roca, where the ascent to the Sierra de la Marina Park begins, which must be crossed completely. As you make your way, you will find stimuli such as the Plan del Alcornoque, the Romanesque Hermitage of San Bartolomé de Cabañas or the Dolmen de la Roca de Toni. The highest point of the excursion, 492 meters, is in the Hermitage of San Mateo del Bosque, in Premià de Dalt where you can visit the town's history museum. And from there, a 5-kilometer descent with a panoramic view of the entire Maresme to Ocata beach, in El Masnou, where the Meridiano Verde empties.

2. From Montmeló to Premià de Mar

A second alternative to go from the Vallès el Maresme through the Cordillera de la Marina is through the Coll de la Creu de Boquet, always with the sea in sight on a route that lasts almost 5 hours and that can also be done both by walk as on a mountain bike. Before starting to climb, the itinerary goes through Vilanova del Vallès and the Riera de Ardenya. Then you will go in the direction of the sea between the forests that are at the foot of the hills of Mas Miquel, Lloveres, Can Tábano and Moreu. The highest point of the excursion is the pre-Romanesque Hermitage of San Salvador, which is attached to the Masía de Can Boquet, an equally interesting civil building with a basilica plan. At this point the descent that crosses Villassar de Arriba begins and ends at Premià beach.
