DOQ Priorat: wines with soul in a landscape of great personality

The Priorat name has been linked to viticulture for centuries. The combination of soil, climate, topography, and the work of men and women who have produced it following ancient traditional techniques, aided by modern technology adapted to the demands of quality, has resulted in an authentic, exclusive product: Priorat wine.
A historic appellation, known for its rugged terrain and intense, elegant wines
Vine cultivation is distributed at altitudes ranging from 100 meters above sea level in the lower parts of Bellmunt del Priorat and El Molar, to 750 meters in the upper parts of Morera de Montsant and Porrera.
The cultivation configuration is characterized by slopes exceeding 15% in most cases, with some farms reaching 60%. The winding geography of this area requires vines to be grown on coastal slopes, some of which do not allow mechanical access.
The recommended and authorized red varieties are Garnacha Peluda, Tempranillo, Picapoll Negro, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Syrah.
The white varieties are: Garnacha Blanca, Macabeo, Pedro Ximénez, Chenin, Muscat of Alexandria, Small Grain Muscat, Pansal, Picapoll Blanco and Viognier.
The most widely cultivated varieties in Priorat are the black ones, with Carignan and Garnacha being the most notable native varieties.
