Tarraco Viva, the Roman Festival of Tarragona 2023

Tarraco Viva celebrates a new edition returning to its origins: the city of Tarraco itself and the role of the Historical Heritage as a way of knowing and enjoying the citizenship.

More than 300 activities from 130 different acts will fill the city of Tarragona with historical recreations, monologues, conferences, debates, presentations and many other activities. The city of Tarraco will be, precisely, the central theme of this edition, with the aim of knowing and understanding how Roman cities functioned, their urban planning and their inhabitants.

Disseminate ancient history in an attractive way and provoke reflection on our past. With this desire, Tarraco Viva was born in 1999. "History for everyone " could be the motto of this international festival dedicated to the dissemination of history from the Roman period.

Tarraco Viva has become a benchmark both for the proposals it formulates and for the quality of those who offer them. Military life and everyday life; the legions, the theater, the gladiators, the home, the kitchen, writing, engineering, fashion... everything is recreated with a common denominator: rigor.

Knowing the past is not something free, but it is the best way to understand the present and, therefore, to be able to choose the future. He will probably discover that you are more Roman than you thought.
