Steam Fair of Sant Vicenç de Castellet

The Steam Fair recreates daily life in Sant Vicenç de Castellet between 1868 and 1923, when the railroad and the beat of the textile factories went with steam.

With the installation of factories, in the practically uninhabited municipality, the village of Sant Vicenç de Castellet was born. Little by little, we went from an agrarian to an industrial society, accompanied by a multitude of changes. Many shops opened , artisan workshops , and new needs arose. The dance, the theater, the singing, the cafes, the game, the party and the incipient cinema freed people from the monotony and hardness of industrial and rural work.

With the fair, you will enjoy a set of shows recalling the time, for all audiences, a market of craftsmen, a sample of traditional crafts, traditional games and exhibitions.
