FustÀneu, Wood Culture Fair in Alt Àneu

Valencia de Àneu ( Alt Àneu ) will host the first edition of FustÀneu, a conference dedicated to wood as a resource, heritage, and driving force for the future. Organized by the Alt Àneu City Council with the support of the Alt Pirineu Natural Park and other regional organizations, the event will combine technical debate, culture, gastronomy, and recreational activities for all audiences.

The morning and afternoon will feature two roundtable discussions: one focusing on forest management and the other on current and emerging uses of wood —from crafts to sustainable construction. Visitors will also enjoy a craft market, an exhibition of traditional items, intergenerational workshops, children's activities, and a potluck.

In the evening, a food tasting led by local restaurateurs will give way to a chainsaw skill show, culminating in a competition and awards ceremony. The celebration will conclude with raffles for experiences in the area and live traditional music, creating a festive atmosphere that celebrates nature and rural life.

The FustÀneu is also a tribute to local memory: it revives the spirit of the Wood Fair held 17 years ago, now with a renewed vision based on sustainability and respect for forests.
