Fallas of Alàs

The town of Alàs is the only one in the Alt Urgell region that celebrates a fallas descent similar to other towns in the Pyrenees. The event has been held since 2021, inspired by the discovery of a document recording the oldest fallas descent in the Pyrenees, dating back to 1543.

Since then, every June 23rd, the population of Alàs and the entire municipality mobilizes to give a specific and particular touch to the night of San Juan, with more than fifty falleros who descend with their lit fallas from the sawmill of the hermitage of the Virgen de las Piezas to the Alàs square.
