Day of the Cathar shelters in Josa de Cadí

Josa i Tuixent (Josa de Cadí)

Experience the Cathar Shelters Day in Josa de Cadí! Conferences, roundtable discussions, excursions, gastronomy, theater... to remember this town's Cathar past.

A day dedicated to remembering the town's historical past, linked to Catharism. Ramon de Josa and his son Guillem Ramon play a central role, as they were persecuted by the Inquisition for having welcomed the Cathars. Ramon even received consolation, the sacrament of the Cathar faith.

The Cathar Refuge Days in the Catalan Pyrenees began in 1996 in Josa de Cadí and Castellbò, and over time expanded to other regions such as Cerdanya, Berguedà, Solsonès, and Pallars Sobirà. The driving force behind this initiative was Laurentí Parramon, then mayor of Josa.
