4 days at the Christmas Markets of Southern France - Apolo Travel

On December 5th we're heading to the Christmas Markets in the South of France!

DAY 1 - PLACE OF ORIGIN - GIRONA - PERPIGNAN - EMPURIABRAVA

Morning departure for Girona, where we will tour the old town, one of the best-preserved Jewish quarters in Europe and a filming location for famous series such as Game of Thrones. We will then continue our journey to the hotel in Empuriabrava. Check-in and lunch. In the afternoon, we will travel to Perpignan to explore the city and visit its traditional Christmas market (Le Village de Noël), held along the main canal promenade, where a small Christmas village made of wooden houses is recreated. There, we will find regional handicrafts and plenty of Christmas gift ideas. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 2 - NARBONNE

Breakfast. Morning departure for the French town of Narbonne, where we will tour this historic city founded in 118 BC, the first Roman colony outside of Italy. Its 2,500-year history explains better than anyone why strolling through its streets is like stepping back in time. The earliest evidence of this history is the polished cobblestones of the Via Domitia, and we will also visit its traditional Christmas market. Transfer to a restaurant for lunch. Free time. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 3 - CARCASSONNE

Breakfast and departure for the fortified medieval town of Carcassonne, one of the most beautiful medieval towns in France with 52 towers and over 3 km of walls, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Free time to explore its lively streets, which will transport you back to the Middle Ages and are beautifully decorated for Christmas at this time of year. Lunch at a restaurant within the town. In the afternoon, we will visit the Carcassonne Christmas Market, recreated with typical stalls and lights in the town's main square. Free time and return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 4 - COLLIOURE - PLACE OF ORIGIN

Breakfast and departure for the charming French town of Collioure, where we will explore its lively streets and squares with their bohemian and medieval atmosphere, hidden gems where you can soak up the Christmas ambiance with lovely shops and art galleries. Free time. Return to the hotel for lunch and, at the agreed time, return to our point of origin.
