Festival of the Pine and the Saints Patterns in Figaró-Montmany

Figaró celebrates the traditional Fiesta del Pino and Santos Patrones.

The Fiesta del Pino has its origins in ancient pagan rituals of fertility and cult of nature. During the party, the men of the town in the morning to cut a pine that transported to the population; Upon arrival there is a ringing of bells and the entire population goes out to receive it. Later it is planted with the collaboration of the people. At sunset, all together burn pine.

The celebration of the Holy Patrons has its origin in the vote of the people that made the parishioners of Vallcàrquera 1812, in the War of Independence. The parishioners solemnly promised that if Santa Maria, Santa Ana and San Rafael saved them from the hunger that had been caused by the lack of fruits after more than ten years of hail, it serves them devotion forever to the honor and glory of such special patrons listening to mass and abstaining from working on the day of the festival of each year.
