The Giralda of Seville and the Court of the Lions - Alhambra in the Arboç
Discover the Giralda of l'Arboç this January 24th!
Morning departure towards the Penedès region. Stop en route for breakfast (not included). Continue to the town of L'Arboç where we will visit the Giralda of L'Arboç (entrance included). This emblematic building stands 52 meters tall and is a faithful 1/50 scale replica of the famous Giralda of Seville. The complex also includes replicas of the Court of the Lions from the Alhambra in Granada and the Hall of Ambassadors from the Alcázar of Seville. The building's decoration is characterized by horseshoe arches, lobed arches, and arabesques. All decorative elements and materials used closely follow the original designs. The creators of this work were a couple from L'Arboç who, after their honeymoon in Andalusia, returned enthusiastic about Arab architecture and decided to build a summer residence and reproduce in it the elements that most surprised them about the Arab architecture present in Andalusia.
Next, we will visit the "Museum of Pillow Lace," dedicated to the traditional pillow lace technique, which houses the world's largest collection of Arbocenca lace examples. This craft was declared a unique tradition of Catalonia in 2010 by Artesanía de Catalunya (Catalan Crafts). Afterward, you will have free time to explore the town. We will then transfer to a restaurant for lunch, and after a leisurely meal, we will return to Barcelona.
