ROUTES OF EXILE

The Exile Memorial Museum presents the seventh edition of the Routes of Exile. A series of trips to different places linked to the exile of 1939, designed for individual users or small groups: friends, family, couples...

WHERE AND WHEN?

• Saturday 6th September: Argelès Field Memorial and Elna Maternity Hospital
• Meeting point: Hotel Lido de Argelès.

Please note:

• The scheduled time of activities is half a day (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.).
• Prior registration is required (Entrapolis MUME Platform) and the activity is subject to a minimum number of registrants. In the event of having to cancel the activity, the amount paid will be refunded by the same means.
• Travel is done using the participant's own transportation and lunch is NOT included.

We will visit the beach of Argelès, a place that from 1939 onwards was the destination of thousands of Republican refugees who had crossed the border on their way to exile. On the beach we will talk about the daily life of the inmates of this concentration camp. We will also visit the Memorial Centre of the Camp d'Argelers, a symbol of the French concentration camps and then the Maternity Hospital of Elna, a testimony of peace and solidarity in the midst of the desperation of exile.
