ROUTES OF EXILE

The Exile Memorial Museum presents the seventh edition of the Routes of Exile. A series of trips to different places linked to the exile of 1939, designed for individual users or small groups: friends, family, couples...

WHERE AND WHEN?

• Saturday, November 1: Maquis Route (1): San Iscle de Colltort (Sant Feliu de Pallerols, Garrotxa).
• Meeting place: Sant Iscle de Colltort neighborhood (Sant Feliu de Pallerols, Garrotxa).

Please note:

• The scheduled time of activities is half a day (10am to 2pm).
• Prior registration is required (Entrapolis MUME Platform) and the activity is subject to a minimum number of registrants. In the event of having to cancel the activity, the amount paid will be refunded by the same means.
• Travel is done using the participant's own transportation and lunch is not included.

After the Second World War, some of the Republican exiles, who had participated in the French resistance against the Nazi occupation, began to fight to overthrow the Franco dictatorship.

For this purpose, a series of routes had been drawn up on foot that crossed the Pyrenees to transport guerrillas, weapons or propaganda material. The Maquis route is a 3-hour circular itinerary on foot that runs through the Garrochino landscape and revives one of the border crossings of the anti-Franco guerrillas.
