Cosmonits "Infinite Nights" at CosmoCaixa
Mathematics and infinity, accessible to everyone!
This summer, science enthusiasts will find at CosmoCaixa proposals that will immerse them in the fascinating world of mathematics and, in particular, in the suggestive concept of infinity, which awakens the imagination and generates many questions, such as: what is beyond everything? Does the universe end somewhere? The CosmoNits will be held on Thursdays, July 17 and 31, and August 7 and 21, from 6:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., days in which the different facilities of the museum will be transformed to host a unique experience around numbers and infinity, with a total program of 20 simultaneous activities designed for all types of public.
Through games, puzzles, and mathematical magic; geometry, infinite constructions, and simulations; film and literary offerings, the public will be able to explore how mathematics, physics, art, and science fiction intertwine to ignite new forms of infinity in the imagination. In this way, CosmoNits reinforce the overall experience of the Science Museum and transform every corner into a space for knowledge, fun, and intergenerational encounters where science, curiosity, and imagination converge during an unforgettable evening.
Participate in various workshops on infinite forms and finite calculus as a mathematical training, and relax while contemplating fractals in a planetarium projection. You'll test your intuition about numbers in a trivia quiz, help calculate the age of possible extraterrestrial civilizations, and attend a narrated film screening about one of the most extraordinary figures in the history of mathematics. You'll even be able to participate in the collective construction of a large, ephemeral geometric installation, among many other activities.
Don't miss it!
