Concert of the Chamber Choir of the Palau de la Música in the Castle of Concabella
The Chamber Choir of the Palau de la Música Catalana, directed by Cervera Xavier Puig, will perform at the Castle of Concabella Els Plans de Sió, Saturday, November 9, at 7 p.m. It will be the last concert of the XV Concabella Castle Music Festival, organized by the cultural association Amigos del Castillo de Concabella and the Town Hall of Plans de Sió.
He will present the Tradition and Creation program: 150 years of Catalan choral music, which will premiere in Concabella. The concert will be recorded live at Catalunya Música.
The Chamber Choir, which has the National Music Award from the Generalitat of Catalonia, is one of the most prestigious professional choirs in Europe. He collaborates with the most prestigious national and international orchestras and operas and with the most outstanding conductors of the 21st century.
As for Xavier Puig, since 2018 he is the head conductor of the Vallès Symphony Orchestra and principal conductor of the Chamber Choir of the Palau de la Música Catalana. He also conducts the Girona Orchestra and the Chamber Choir of the Enric Granados Auditorium in Lleida. He has directed the Ginesta de Cervera Choir and the Murtra Ensemble for twenty-five years, dedicated to the music of the 20th century. He was also the artistic director of the first six editions of the Cervera Easter Festival, dedicated to classical Catalan music, which he founded in 2011.
