Cathar Market and Bons Homes Fair in Castellbò

Once again this year, Castellbò becomes a living stage to commemorate one of the most significant episodes in its history with the celebration of the Cathar Market. The town recovers its medieval past with a day full of activities combining historical information, entertainment, and tradition.

The market brings together artisans from the valley and throughout the Pyrenees, offering a unique display of quality, handmade products. The fair atmosphere is complemented by parades, storytelling, and guided tours of the castle and the town's iconic corners, allowing visitors to delve deeper into the Cathar history of the region.

One of the highlights is the medieval dinner, an immersive gastronomic experience that invites you to experience the feast with all your senses, evoking the customs and flavors of the era. The opening speech by Viscountess Ermesenda and the final fireworks display, commemorating the arrival of the Inquisition, close out a day filled with symbolism and emotion.

Organized by the EMD of the Villa y Vall de Castellbò and the Regional Council of Alt Urgell, this event has the involvement of the neighborhood and the support of various institutions that make possible a unique event in the heart of the Pyrenees.
