Photographic exhibition: Molins, vestigis of a passat, Castell de Concabella

From April 7 to June 30, 2024, photographer M. Teresa Montané exhibits the windmills of Aude (France).

Molins, vestiges of a passat. Els molins de l'Aude (France) is the title of the photographic exhibition that can be visited from April 7 to June 30 at the Concabella Castle. Maria Teresa Montané, born in Sitges and resident in Badens (Aude) since 1998, is the author of the photographs.

Maria Teresa Montané goes in search of those Aude windmills that are not registered, since, as she states, she considers them an almost forgotten identity heritage of this Occitan region, in addition to being witnesses of the economy and development of a territory. To date, he has discovered 290 and cataloged them in a monographic book. The department of Aude, which is made up of the districts of Carcassonne, Limós and Narbonne, has an important cereal tradition, which explains this large concentration of mills.

This exhibition allows us to discover a local heritage that too often has been disappearing from our landscapes. And to round it off, the photographs are accompanied by short poems, proverbs and Occitan riddles.
