Guided visit to the Monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes
Tour the most emblematic spaces of the Sant Pere de Rodes monastery, discovering the history and architecture of this jewel of the Catalan Romanesque!
The Monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes stands on one of the peaks of the Sierra de Rodes, a mountain range located north of Alt Empordà, near the coast, above Port de la Selva. It is one of the numerous examples of Catalan Romanesque architecture, but it is perhaps one of the most sophisticated from an architectural point of view.
From the 11th to the 14th century, it was the main spiritual center of the county of Empúries and its greatness is reflected in the majestic dimensions of the monastic complex. This is made up of the church, the bell tower, the cloister, the sacristies, the rooms for daily life and the Abbot's Palace.
