The White Cos in Salou
The Coso Blanco is the most genuine expression of the Salouense identity during the winter festival.
In 1981 a Party Commission gave it the current format, with the creation of a small parade that over the years would become the White Coso and during which small newspaper clippings were thrown instead of confetti. Since 1995 the City Council assumes the organization of the celebrations.
According to the legend, the White Coso began as a joke among friends who at one time of the party threw pieces of paper. At present it is a consolidated act, which changes every year incorporating new elements, with a constant increase in its infrastructure and participating groups.
It is one of the most anticipated and crazy acts of the festival. At a certain moment of the parade, on Ciutat de Reus street and Barcelona street, the party stops, turns off the music of the floats and street lighting and begins a sound, light and confetti show that drives more than 20,000 people crazy They meet.
