Between February and March, when the calçot harvesting process begins, the Calçot Gastronomic Days are held in Mont-roig del Camp and Miami Platja!
The restaurants of Mont-roig del Camp and Miami Platja will surprise you with recipes where the calçot is presented in multiple culinary options, going beyond the traditional "calçotada".
The calçot is an exquisite discovery from the end of the 19th century by the people of Valles that spread through the Camp de Tarragona, reaching Mont-roig Miami at the beginning of the 20th century. Since then it has become popular among the kitchens of the families of the town and little by little it has turned Mont-roig del Camp into one of the main calçots-producing municipalities in Catalonia.
The nutrient-rich sedimentary soil, as well as the climate, marked especially by the mistral, give the calçot produced in Mont-roig Miami a high quality, differentiating itself in the Camp de Tarragona.
