La Tallada d'Empordà

The Carved d'Empordà is a municipality composed of four villages: The Carved d'Empordà, the Carved Canet, Marenya and Tor. All are part of the Baix Empordà and are located in the Baix Ter Plana, as the river that bears his name does limit in the southern part of the municipality.

Canet of Carved

This core was formed by a cluster of farmhouses, but in recent years I have grown and consolidated in an urban core. In Canet find the church of Sant Mateu de Canet, single nave with side chapels and Gothic.

The Carved d'Empordà

It seems to have its origins in the castle which is situated in the center of the historic core, which still retain a part of the wall and towers. Today, these parts have been integrated into the buildings in town. We also found the ancient gateway of the castle, the old moat which has become a walk and the old chapel of the castle, the Romanesque church of Santa Maria, in the XII-XIII.

Marenya

It is at the core of Marenya where found the oldest remains of settlement of the town and this is where they built the church of Sant Esteve de Marenya XI century. In front of this church can be seen an altar with cardinal names in Latin.

Tor

It is the second biggest city of the municipality and in the oldest part with some portals stand adovelados houses, but the most important building is the church of Sant Climent Romanesque dependent Marenya parish.

In the surroundings of the town of La Carved d'Empordà can perform various routes, most of them low difficulty, because the terrain is very rugged.

Each core of the Carved d'Empordà has its own festival. The most notable is that of The Carved d'Emporda which was always celebrated on 15 August, but in recent years has moved to the last Saturday in June.
