Flaçà
The municipality of Flaçà is one of the smallest in Gironès. It occupies an area of 6.67 km2 and stretches across the Sierra de Vall-lloreda and the alluvial plain formed by the river Ter once it crosses the Congost pass. To the north it limits with the river Ter and the municipality of Sant Jordi Desvalls, to the west with the municipalities of Sant Joan de Mollet and Sant Martí Vell and to the south and east with the municipalities of Foixà and La Pera, both already belonging to the Baix Empordà region.
The municipality of Flaçà includes the urban nucleus, better known as the old town or simply the town; la Bolla, where the Barcelona railway station is located in Portbou; la Colonia, and the neighborhood of Ferreres. The town and La Bolla are located on the plain, near the main roads, while Colonia and the neighborhood of Ferreres are already in the foothills of the Vall-lloreda mountain range that separate the nucleus of Flaçà from the neighboring town. of Foixa. The highest point of the municipality is the Puig d'en Fuselles
