Sant Ferriol
The sanctuary of Sant Ferriol has given its name, since 1922, to an extensive municipality, with a wild landscape and dense forests, where old mansions and chapels of Romanesque origin still stand, such as Sant Miquel de la Miana (in a particularly attractive area), San Silvestre del Mor and Santa Maria de Fares.
The sanctuary is not in very good condition, but the complex - built around the s. XVIII in a late Gothic style - it still has a rather imposing appearance. In front of the sanctuary there is a pleasant environment that gives way to an excellent panoramic view of the Alta Garrotxa.
The Turno neighborhood is, in fact, four houses around the parish church, but with a friendly, neat, rural presence and, certainly, very calm. The river Ser, as it passes through the Turno, presents crystal clear and tempting waters, ideal for taking a dip in summer.
A short distance away is the old Collell priory and sanctuary, which brings together an extensive group of buildings presided over by the sumptuous neo-Gothic church. The image of the Virgen del Collell that is venerated here, was proclaimed patron saint of the Girona clergy and is the object of great devotion
