Bellpuig

Bellpuig is located at an altitude of 308 m and extends along the Pla de Ponent between the districts of Barbens, Castellnou de Seana and Vilanova de Bellpuig to the west; Belianes at noon and Preixana, Vilagrassa and Anglesola to the east. In the northern part is the nucleus of Seana, which is annexed to Bellpuig. The territory is slightly undulating and sloping towards the west, following the gentle slope of the entire plane towards the Segre. The Urgell canal crosses the municipality on the south side and marks the border between dry land and irrigated land.

Bellpuig sits in the west of the Urgell region, where the mountains slope towards the plain. It is the third most important town in Urgell, after Tàrrega and Agramunt.

The Urgell canal defines an important irrigation area in its term and supplies the town with drinking water; the Cuervo and Conca streams drain the land irrigated by the canal.

The town of Seana is a decentralized municipal entity but depends on the municipality of Bellpuig.
The town is well connected with a complete road network, as well as the Barcelona-Lleida motorway and the Lleida-Manresa-Barcelona railway line.

Agriculture, livestock and the industry sector are the main economic axes of the population.

The services sector is also becoming increasingly important within the economy of Bellpuig.

The town has good facilities for administrative services, education, health, culture and sports. There is also a large number of cultural and sports entities that give life to the population.
