Santa Ursula Fair in Valls

The Santa Úrsula de Valls Fair is ready!

The celebration focuses on the human tower exhibitions, where the city's two groups, the Colla Vella de los Xiquets de Valls and the Colla Joves Xiquets de Valls, offer one of the most outstanding human tower events of the year. These performances usually attract thousands of spectators, both from the municipality and from outside, who come to experience firsthand the competition and skill of these two groups, historically considered the oldest and most influential on the human tower scene.

As part of the Santa Úrsula Fair in Valls, Saint Ursula Day is celebrated in Plaça del Blat, known as the mother of all human tower festivals. It is one of the most important in Catalonia and represents the closing of the traditional castle calendar. Since 2012, it has hosted the Fòrum Casteller, the major cross-sectional fair on the world of castles.

In addition to the castles, the Santa Úrsula festival offers a wide range of cultural and traditional activities, such as parades, concerts, exhibitions, and fairs. It is also an opportunity for the Vallense community to reunite, in an atmosphere that deeply embraces values such as collaboration, respect for tradition, and a spirit of shared achievement.

One of the most distinctive elements of the festival is the "historical rivalry" between the two groups of Vallenques, which is especially evident on this day and contributes to a lively and passionate atmosphere. All of this makes Santa Úrsula much more than a local celebration: it is a cultural event of great national significance, fully expressing the essence and strength of the Catalan human tower world.
