'Solistes' cycle in Alta Ribagorça

Alta Ribagorça hosts a new edition of the 'Solistes' Cycle!

In 1994, the Alta Ribagorça region launched the "Solistes" music series with a series of concerts integrated into the architectural complex, inviting people to listen to classical music from renowned performers inside the area's churches. This year, the series celebrates its thirtieth anniversary with a high-quality lineup and a host of initiatives to promote culture, heritage, and nature.

Over the years, the Solistes Alta Ribagorça series has undergone modifications in terms of the types of styles and locations of the concerts, while always maintaining their quality. This has significantly increased the number of spectators. In 1999, when the program was changed to incorporate musical styles other than classical, the number of attendees grew progressively, reaching figures that were difficult to surpass and limited by the capacity of the churches, which did not allow for large gatherings. From that moment on, the concerts were extended to outdoor venues, broadening the audience.

This year's program stands out for its stylistic richness and the high artistic level of the performances:

• On August 2, the cycle will start in the Plaza del Mercadal in El Pont de Suert with the flamenco guitarist Abraham Lojo, who will perform together with a quintet of excellent musicians.
• On August 16th, in Boí, it will be the turn of A Contra Blues, one of the most prestigious rock and blues bands on the European scene. (New location: in front of the church apse).
• On August 23, in Vilaller, Alice & The Wonders will offer a vibrant show of soul, swing and jazz.
• And the cycle will close on August 30 in Llesp with Aura and Biel Quartet, with a delicate and nuanced proposal.
