Aplec de Sant Maurici in Caldes de Malavella

One of the most anticipated events on the Caldas calendar is back! Caldes de Malavella is celebrating the Aplec de Sant Maurici once again this year!

The events will begin with the celebration of the Eucharist in the parish church, where this year's Mass in honor of Sant Esteve by composer Antoni Mas Bou will premiere, with the participation of the Cantaires de Caldes Choir. Monday's event will kick off with the traditional group walk from the church square to the Sant Maurici hermitage, accompanied by giants and folk music, in a festive and family atmosphere.

Once at the hermitage, the Solemn Office will take place, followed by a performance of the sardana "Doll de Catalunya" by the Cobla Ciutat de Girona. The group will also offer an outstanding sardana performance at midday and in the afternoon, with pieces by composers such as Max Havard, Salvador Coll Bonancia, Francesc Mas Ros, and Enric Morera.

The popular luncheon with a complete rice dish is one of the most anticipated moments, with the opportunity to enjoy a communal meal that brings together hundreds of people. The festivities will also include the Anniversary Dance with the Giants of Catalonia and other traditional activities such as the Rosary and the sale of Sant Maurici candles.

With this edition, Aplec reaffirms its strength as a living tradition, maintaining the spirit of devotion and conviviality that has made it endure through generations.
