Ronda road in Salou
The 6.5-kilometer trail runs along the coastline from the Pilones area to the Cap Salou Lighthouse.
The route consists of 2 sections: from Pilones to Replanells (2 kms) the road is fully enabled and from Replanells to Faro (4.5 kms) a natural road, not fully conditioned.
The different panoramas that can be discovered along the way allow us to know in a very different way the area of Cap Salou. We start!
Historically, the roads of Ronda crossed the coast and were used for monitoring the coast or fishermen. The recovery of this route returns the possibility of walking along the coast through points where it had been impossible to do so for many years.
The walk along the Camino de Ronda discovers the great natural and landscape richness of the area. Apart from the different panoramas that can be discovered along the way, the road runs along beaches and coves, once it becomes a very different way to discover the Cap Salou area.
From Pilones, the path goes south and goes through the beach of Capellans, where you can see the remains of the old Llatzaret, built in 1829. The tour continues through the Llenguadets cove, from which you can see the bunkers built during the War Civil. The last section corresponds to the Larga beach, a natural environment and already away from the tourist area.
Although the road reaches a maximum height of 77 meters from sea level, with sections that have a small difficulty, most of it is practicable for everyone.
Cap Salou reveals yet another possibility. Due to its location, it is a place of interest for the observation of seabirds that cost to see from the beach. Thus, with the help of telescopes and other types of optical instruments, it is possible to observe shearwaters, parasites, gannets, puffins, alcas, colimbos, storm birds and sea ducks, such as the black duck or the dark duck.
You can also see several species of seagulls among which the Audouin seagull is relatively abundant and easy to see in spring and autumn.
